Frankincense Essential Oil (Boswellia)

Steam distilled from a carefully selected blend of Boswellia resins, this Frankincense Essential Oil captures the classic aroma that has made frankincense one of the world's most treasured botanicals. Bright citrus notes, clean resin and warm balsamic woods combine in a beautifully balanced fragrance that is instantly recognisable and exceptionally versatile.

Unlike heavier resins, frankincense possesses an airy elegance that allows it to lift floral compositions while simultaneously anchoring deeper woody and oriental accords. Its remarkable versatility has made it indispensable in both traditional incense and modern natural perfumery.

Whether used in perfumes, aromatherapy, candles or botanical skincare, Frankincense adds refinement, warmth and exceptional harmony to almost any blend.

History

Frankincense has been valued for over five thousand years and remains one of history's most celebrated aromatic resins. Harvested by carefully tapping the bark of Boswellia trees, the fragrant resin hardens into golden tears before being collected and distilled into its precious essential oil.

Ancient trade routes carried frankincense across Arabia, North Africa and the Mediterranean, where it became one of the most valuable commodities of the ancient world. Revered in temples, churches and royal courts, it was burned as incense, blended into perfumes and treasured as a symbol of purity, devotion and luxury.

Today, Frankincense Essential Oil continues to hold a central place in artisan perfumery. Its fresh resinous character, elegant woody warmth and remarkable blending ability make it one of the world's finest botanical ingredients, equally at home in modern natural fragrances as it was in the ancient perfumes that first made it famous.
